Shipping During the Pandemic

Nicki Serquinia, here, from Hats, Scarves & More with an update on shipping services and how the pandemic has impacted deliveries.

At Hats, Scarves & More we are still getting your orders out the next business day. However, we are seeing more and more late deliveries as winter approaches and the pandemic rages and people are once again being encouraged to shop safely by ordering online or by local delivery.

Please remember, when the pandemic hit in March we experienced the largest disruption of goods and services since WWII. No matter who you are, where you live or your political affiliations, we have all been impacted by the pandemic.

One of the essential services to be hit is the United States Postal Service. They have been scrambling since March when shops and stores shut down and more people began ordering online. The postal service did a great job rising to the occasion and deliveries soon resumed a normal timeline.

Now, with the holidays approaching online shopping has increased even more and the postal service is once again overloaded.  

How this impacts you and your orders

Most deliveries arrive on time, but we have seen late deliveries by a few days or even 2-3 weeks. This is true whether it’s priority or first class.

If you have not received your order in 1 week, (USA) please contact me and I’ll try to trace it or replace it.

Priority mail is generally 2-3 days, but it is not guaranteed. We have seen even priority mail take 2-3 weeks. Only Express is guaranteed and all that means is they will refund your money if your package is not delivered on time.

There is no refund for a late Priority Mail delivery.  

A possible alternative:

At checkout, you will not have an option of using UPS or for international, DHL. However, I can manually change your shipping service to one of these carriers. They cost more and I can let you know the cost and you can pay the difference if you’d rather use those services.

Please remember that everyone is doing the best they can. Our postal service employees are essential frontline workers and they are also tired and exhausted.

Once your package leaves here, I have no control over it. I will do everything I can to make it right for you, please be patient.
